Margaritaville Christmas Cruise and Stay December 4-8, 2022

$999.00$1,299.00

2-Night Cruise + 2-Night Stay. One Low Price!

Do you want the best of land and sea during Christmas time? We have put together this special holiday package that combines a two night cruise on Margaritaville at Sea and two night stay at the Grand Lucayan resort. ALL INCLUSIVE! If you are a fan of Jimmy Buffett and enjoy the Margaritaville lifestyle, this tour is for you!

Let’s do something meaningful this Christmas. Sail away to Margaritaville with gifts in your suitcase.

On September 1, 2019, Hurricane Dorian struck the Bahamas as a Category 5 storm with sustained winds of 185 miles an hour. It was the strongest storm ever to hit the Bahamas, at least back to 1851, when data on storms first began to be recorded. The islands were still recovering from Hurricane Matthew, which struck in October 2016. On March 11, 2020,  the World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19, the disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2, a pandemic. Even the most resilient economies and people of the World have suffered greatly due to the pandemic. The people and businesses of Grand Bahama had to deal with two natural disasters of epic proportion resulting in tremendous hardship. One of the biggest challenges in the wake of any natural disasters for tourism economies is convincing travelers they should still come visit.

As a company, we have witnessed first hand the difficulties the Bahamas are faced with. We have also witnessed the outpouring of love and hospitality of the ever faithful Bahamian people. It is easy for us to step off a cruise ship and get caught up in the crystal blue waters of paradise, while never really paying attention to the ongoing struggle the island still faces.

Our light bulb moment came after many months of operating our cruise tours to Grand Bahama with Margaritaville at Sea. Hundreds of groups from The Villages® and surrounding areas have enjoyed the island and it’s hospitality. How can we give back?  We want to do more and should do more for the people of Grand Bahama. An idea was born! After meeting with several of our hospitality partners on the island, we have decided to meet the need during this holiday season. This cruise will be the inaugural Pajamas for Bahamas to benefit The Grand Bahama Children’s Home.

Nothing is more comforting and joyful than a pair of Christmas Pajamas!  Being healthier and happier does not just mean exercising, eating right, reducing stressful situations and problems – it also means feeling good and not just inside, but also on the outside. We always think that being healthier and happier entails complicated rituals and life-changing habits, but if truth be told, it can be as simple as wearing  pajamas to sleep. There’s something magical about a child in Christmas Pajamas.

HERE’S HOW WE ACCOMPLISH THE MISSION

We are asking every passenger on this cruise to simply purchase a pair of children’s Christmas pajamas and add them to your suitcase. On day two of the cruise we are going to head over to the children’s home on Grand Bahama and present these gifts in person as a token of our love and compassion for our island friends. Want to go the extra mile of holiday cheer, add a small toy or one of the items from the Wish List below.

Amenities include several dining venues, pools, entertainment programming, retail stores, a St. Somewhere Spa, Fins Up! Fitness Center, and more.

What is there to do on the Margaritaville cruise ship?

Aboard this tropical floating resort, you’ll find the Stars on the Water theater and bar, where you can catch a performance of the ship show “Tales from Margaritaville,” written by Jimmy Buffett and Frank Marshall. Jimmy Buffett has written a number of books, one of which is the best-selling “Tales from Margaritaville,” featuring the protagonist Tully Mars. The show features a cast of six performers and a live band who pour their hearts into the performance.

Jimmy Buffett, the man behind the brand, has humble roots, and many fans like myself recall his days of performing in no-name bars. Look at him now! His 1977 hit song “Margaritaville” catapulted his career, and now there is a brand that extends to multiple facets of life that will keep his legacy going for decades.
